Press Registration Guidelines

Step 1: Complete the registration form and follow the guidelines listed in the section that applies to you.

Step 2: The day of the event, please bring your Photo ID with you when you pick up your badge

Please note: "Listening to the City" reserves the right to refuse press badges upon review of credentials. If you have a valid NYPD, Nassau County, Bergen County, Westchester County, etc. Police Press Card you do not need to read the following sections, but you will need to bring the card with you to the event to receive your badge.

Print Publications (Commercial News Only): Please provide ONE OR MORE of the following:

  1. Copy of your business card with name, editorial title, and media outlet's logo
  2. Copy of a current masthead, which clearly displays your name and editorial title
  3. A published, bylined article written by you within the last 6 months

Unfortunately, analysts cannot be registered as press.

Broadcast Media (Commercial News Only ): Please provide ONE OR MORE of the following:

  1. Copy of your business card with name, editorial title, and media outlet's logo
  2. Letter (on company letterhead) from your producer listing the name of the program and all members of the crew that will attend "Listening to the City" on assignment or under current contract.

Please note that each member of the crew needs to register separately.

Online Publications (Commercial News Only): Please provide ONE OR MORE of the following:

  1. Copy of your business card with name, editorial title, and media outlet's logo
  2. A copy of your online publication's home page and the masthead page with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity
  3. A published, bylined article written by you within the last 6 months

Unfortunately, personal Web site writers, editors or creators cannot be registered as press.

Freelance Writers: In order to register as a member of the media, we require that you submit the following:

  1. A letter (on letterhead) from a publisher, editor-in-chief or managing editor indicating that you are covering "Listening to the City" for the publication, as well as the section of the publication to which you are contributing.
  2. A published, bylined article written by you within the last 6 months is also required. If you are an international freelancer, please contact Anne Taylor at ataylor@cooperkatz.com.

Photographers: In order to register as a member of the media, we require that you submit a letter (on letterhead) from a publisher, editor-in-chief, or managing editor indicating that you are photographing "Listening to the City" on assignment or under current contract for the publication.

Photo Agencies: Photographers employed by photo agencies must submit a letter (on letterhead) from an editor or assignment manager stating you are attending "Listening to the City" on assignment or under current contract. In addition, you must submit a copy of your business card with name, editorial title, and media outlet's logo.

Book Authors: Authors of upcoming industry-related books must submit a letter (on letterhead) from a publisher or editor indicating that you are covering "Listening to the City" on assignment for an upcoming book-in-progress. Authors of books that have already been published will not qualify as media unless working on a current book and able to provide such a letter.
